I haven't written poetry in forever...

real poetry, not just crappy recenct LJ trash

did anyone else notice that it is already fall? I mean stopped for a moment between classes, rehearsals, practicing, homework, lessons, score preperations, listenings, rhythm practice and/or conducting during bus rides, lobbying, event going to/planning, running around trying to get everything done while at the same time getting sleep, making time for sanity, calling home more than once a month, sorting out anything that resembles a bill, keeping your room/clothes slightly clean and, in general, staying healthy and marginally well fed and groomed?

I stopped. I stopped whilst walking from Alumni to the MB a couple days ago and realized that not only have the leaves turned from green to orange to brown, but they have already started covering the ground in their oddly bright shades. It's almost October. As in Thanksgiving, midterms, and Halloween. MIDTERMS people! Holy jesus.

I'm already behind and it hasn't really begun...

Other than the passing of time, as it does, sneaking past on those wiley tip toes, I am sick. Not sick of anything, but sick with something. The flu I am guessing. My ears are plugged.

Which I will not use as an excuse for how badly my lesson went today: I was flat. And that was just the beginning. It may not sound shocking, but anyone in my studio knows I'm notoriously sharper than hell! The rest just went down hill/has been going down hill from lesson to lesson.

I make a list in my head:

I will not laugh in reply to everything
I will concentrate
I will play slowly and controlled
I will not jump when I am frustrated
I will be able to play it right

I succeeded in not laughing or giggling for most of my lesson until I really fucked up the Mozart so badly that I just burst out laughing in frustration and was given a highly heated look that was in no way playful- and thus my laugh dwindled out and I only laughed at appropriate moments from there on in :D

gaa, deathy, sick= feeling deathy. Must find time to finish orchestration so that I can find time to rest/sleep in/not move or think for a period of time later on this week.

Alas, I have a rehearsal this evening, which means staying at school longer than planned, and not getting home for either dinner nor the movie that was going to be watched while doing homework. (*shakes fist at schedule Gods!*)

It seems that I add on a new hour or more to ever week of things that need to get done. This weekend I NEED a break. I am TAKING a break. F&*$ off academia! ... okay, I still need to practice and probably write an astonomy paper, and do some orchestration or conducting or something, but other than all of that...

I'm breaking now aren't I? (only because I haven't found an orchestration student who knows the rest of these silly harmonies...)

Well then, on with my day, first Liu can kick my ass, maybe a pinch or two from Sibelius, then contra practice, then trio rehearsal, and then- HOME! :D :D :D If I run and rehearsal ends early I might make it home before 8:30.
Current Mood: coughy cougy deaf deaf
